Contains constitutions and bylaws of the General Synod which were published or printed separately from the annual proceedings. The constitution and bylaws are published at the end of each edition of the convention minutes. The earliest constitution in this collection was issued in 1826 as the "Constitution of the Theological Seminary of the General Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the United States Together with the Statutes of the General Synod." As indicated by the title, it includes the statues of the General Synod and the constitution of the Gettysburg Seminary in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. There are two copies of "The Augsburg Confession and Formula for the Government and Discipline of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the General Synod in the United States", published in 1890. Also included are 1917 proposed revisions for the constitution and formula for government and discipline.
